Thursday, Dec 24: 3 mile run

For the second day in a row, I decided not to run. I was just too physically exhausted. Instead of running, I went to bed early and slept for almost 18 hours. I think I might have a nasty little cold virus giving me some grief!

Another Goal

2010: Because I am challenging my body with these races, I decided I wanted to also challenge my mind. Since moving to St. Louis, I admittedly haven't read as much as I'd like to. Therefore, I've decided to read (or listen to) at least 52 books this year. I got a late start, but will hopefully be caught up soon. I will read most of the books, but some will be audiobooks since I like to listen to books when I run.

2011: I enjoyed completing this goal last year, and I have decided to repeat this goal. This year I want to read at least 52 books.

2012: I did not complete my racing nor my reading goals in 2011. Unfortunately, my Grandfather was ill, and I spent my racing money to travel and visit him. Also, due to my lupus, I was temporarily told by my doctor to stop running--although I could, and did, go for brisk walks. My grandfather recently lost his battle with pancreatic cancer, and I know he would want me to continue with my racing. I know he was proud of me, and of my goal to raise awareness about lupus. Thus, my goals for 2012 include more races and more books :-)
